windows vista update page disappeared

I installed new updates and then change the language of my vista. Then I
restart computer and I got error "automatic winodows update is turned off". I
try to turn it on but failed then I checked the update page from control
panel. but there was nothing. everything was disappeared. I am not able to
turn it on. Please help me in this regard how do I turn it on. As when I
cannt see anything from update page from control pannel and also unable to
turn it on from security center.

The Windows Features dialog box is empty in Windows Vista, or you receive an
error message that includes the following code when you try to use Windows
Update

Explain. Are you running Vista Enterprise or Vista Ultimate? Are any
Service Packs installed?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)?
