Windows Vista updates crashing my computer

I just purchased a new computer with Windows Vista Home Premium. I went out
and searched for updates and received about 16 or so "important" and
"recommended" ones. When I attempted to download all of them, my computer
crashed at the point where the updates had the computer restarting. When I
tried doing just a few (4 or 5) at a time, my computer crashed again. I
think it crashed and was restored about 4 times, so now I am afraid to try
and download and install any updates! Right now, it has been restored to the
point where no updates are installed. Please help!

Suggest you contact MS -

To contact Microsoft for support issues, visit the International Support Web
site:
https://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx
To make sure you receive the appropriate support information for your
location, select your region setting from the list and then click the arrow
button.

The new computer is under Warranty by it's Manufacturer. Contact them
for Support as that's part of their agreement with MS that allows them
to pay less for Vista.

The most likely cause of this issue is the installed security software.
What is the installed sec software [antivirus/firewall/etc.] ?
Temporarily disabling it *should* resolve the updating issue:

*** Ensure that the native Vista firewall is Enabled IF you have to temp
disable a 3rd party firewall ***
