Suggest you try booting the problematic system to Safe Mode and see if
the updates install.
Start your computer in safe mode
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...904a11033.mspx
If no joy, you can see which updates are attempting to install by
opening Windows Update in the Control Panel or, by opening the
WindowsUpdate.log that is located in the WINDOWS directory [folder].
Scroll down to the bottom of the WindowsUpdate.log for the most recent
entries. It should show the KB# of the update and a short description
for it.
EX:
2008-04-09 13:09:28:050 976 250 DnldMgr * Updates to download = 1
2008-04-09 13:09:28:050 976 250 Agent * Title = Definition Update
