Windows Vista updates wont install

Code 8E5E0147 - Windows Update encountered an unknown error

Code 8E5E03FB - Windows Update encountered an unknown error


I get both of these error warnings when i try and install the updates.. I've
tried numerous times to install them and they still come up as unknown
error.... Anyone know why or how to fix this?

I also had 3 differrent critical updates that I cant install; only now
instead of an error code or reason it just sends me here or knowledge base as
if it doens't even have a clue what the problem is. I tried the UPDATE
MANAGER and it done nothing it didnt install either I guess. But I'm using
windows XP home edition not vista.
