Windows Wireless Lan 802.11

I just bought Toshiba notebook a month or so ago with Vista Premium sp1.
A day ago when I turned on notebook, I had a notice to the effect:
Windows Wireless Lan 802.11 Extensibility Framework has stopped working.
-> Check for a solution later (recommended) next time you start system
-> Close
Those were only two choices. I believe I clicked the first one "Check for a
solution later."
When I turned on notebook tonight, I got the same message. Does anyone know
what could be wrong with this new notebook? I am using the wireless to get
into IE7 and type this message.
My husband and I are senior citizens and not too familiar with computers or
computer language so if someone has an answer, please make it simple enough
for us to understand. We hope this new notebook isn't broken already. We
can't afford to buy another computer or have this one repaired. Thank you for
any help.

Verify that the Wi-Fi power switch is ON. On all Toshiba portables that have a built-in Wi-Fi card
(rather than a PC Card) the right-most LED (front of the computer) should be lit when the Wi-Fi power
switch is on. This LED will be next to an antenna icon (waves radiating from it).

I have no idea what "Extensibility Framework" could be, but if your IE7 is
working without it I am sure it is something you don't really need. If
there is something really wrong with your Toshiba, then it should be covered
by warranty. There should be a number you can call with the materials that
came with the computer, or a customer support program of some kind installed
on the computer. If it is only a month old the computer should be repaired
or exchanged under the warranty program.

I did get into that MS site, but it apparently is not free. When we received
this Toshiba notebook, all the MS programs were loaded by Toshiba including
Vista Home Premium.
The notice on that site states "If your Microsoft product was already
installed on your computer when you purchased it, contact your computer
manufacturer "

I have looked around a lot for answers and although numerous people seem
to have seen this it doesn't look like any successful fix has been found
yet.

refers to it in case that gives someone else a clue, I don;t have one
although someone speculates that it might be a firewall issue and
apparently Norton Security can upset it, so my question I guess would be
have you got Norton / Symantec software installed and have you tried
turning off the windows firewall to see if that helps?

Perhaps giving wlanext.exe port permissions would help?

The second URL is for the Windows Vista SP1 support site, which says, "Free
unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for Windows
Vista, but only for Service Pack 1 (SP1)." I don't see anything on that
page about the computer manufacturer. But call Toshiba anyway. There
should be a support phone number or an application on your laptop to get in
touch with them.

Is there any indication what this "Extensibility Framework" whatchamacallit
is? Is anything conspicuously not working, or is it just the annoying popup
you are concerned about?
