Hi

When Vista was released, I had purchased a new computer with XP on it.
Through my work, I was given a Vista Home Premium Upgrade, as a reward for
completing my Vista training. I installed Vista on my older PC (Which just
made the specs) and it worked a charm - for about a month. Whenever I loaded
I had multiple errors, forcing me to be unable to use the computer. I had
planned to re load Windows XP, and try again, but I could not find my disc.

That was until this weekend, and I have now gone through that process, and
both computers are running on Vista. However, whenever my main computer (the
newer one) tries to activate windows, it keeps saying it has failed.

Is there any reason to this? In terms of me using the key many months ago,
and now using it again.

You cannot use the same Windows Vista license
on two different computers. You'll need to purchase
a second Windows Vista license for the second computer.

I think you are expecting that loophole from XP is still in there where
after a 120 day grace period you could install it on another machine. Nope,
its close, like Carey says, you need to purchase an additional license.

Or you could get a real operating system like Ubuntu and install it on
as many computers as you like. Check it out at www.ubuntu.com/

"both computers are running on Vista."
"Is there any reason to this?"

One license?
Then yes, you only have one license.
If you want Windows Vista on two computers, you need to purchase a
second license.

One license, one computer, the same as it has always been since at
least Windows 95.

Read your license for details.
