Windows XP 64 Updates will not download

For this entire week when I attempt to download Windows XP 64 updates they
will not download. When attempting to download updates I click on the
'custom' select the updates and then click on 'review and install updates'
and then click 'install updates' the 'updates are now being downloaded and
installed' dialog box comes up and just sits there, with zero download
activity.

The computer I am currently working has been 'downloading' since 8 am (2
hours 20 minutes) with absolutely no change in the download progress. The
same thing happened when I attempted to download updates on Monday and
Tuesday as well.

I have truied this with three XP 64 systems and all do the same, two systems
with Windows xp 32 download and install updates just fine. It is only an
issue with XP 64 apparently.
