Windows XP and Windows Server 2003

When the installing patches onto a number of XP SP2 and updating 2003 Server,
I got TCP/IP = 0.0.0.0 on a numberoff workstations, then the Sewrver 2003
got IP=0.0.0.0, i had to uninstall patches from 16-09-2006 backtp
10-9-2006 and corrected problem. How do I correct this problem.
