Hello,
I just downloaded and installed the same update via Windows Update
(09/10/06). After the install, I could still see wireless networks, but I
could not connect to any of them. To make matters worse, the update did not
show up in my "Remove Programs" list. The only thing I could do to resolve
this was to roll back to the previous driver from within the properties
dialog for the Atheros card.
If you still need to do this, here are the steps. Go to your "Wireless
Network Connection Status", then "Properties", then "Configure" for the
Atheros card, then the tab that reads "Driver", then "Roll Back Driver", then
click "Yes". That should resolve it.
If only I could figure out how to report this issue to Microsoft so that
they would remove the update.
Regards,
