My DVD/CDROM will not work because of the following message given in the
properties in the device manager: "Windows cannot load the device driver for
this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" I have
tried using hele and support which did not resolve the issue, how or where
can I download these Windows XP drivers as Windows Updates does not realize I
have a problem ?

Thanks for the info
I was unable to save the registary succesfully so I stop there, how would
the registery have to do with the Error 39 message ? as my error mess =
missing or corrupted driver. Is there no way to just get a copy of the
drivers for XP for DVD/CDROM's ?

I took a chance on deleting the cd files in the regedit even though I could
not backup succeccesfully as someone elese was on the same track but said
just delete the upper and lower filters in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318,
and it worked. I cannot stop smiling but wanted to thankyou again
