Windows XP home SP2 No updates

Try to update get normal reply that your system is being looked at
and I do not even get to the normal 33% message..No errors.nothing!!!
Auto update active,service pack 2 installed,IE level=6.0 HELP

I have the same config and same problem. It wasn't there a month ago.

Never gets past "checking for the latest version of the windows update
software" message ... the rest of the window remains blank and nothing
ever happens.
