I have encountered two different computers this morning, one in XP Pro and
one in XP Home, that have failed to install six priority Windows updates.
They have Service Pack 2. I even cleaed out all Temporary Internet files and
history, and tried again. No luck. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Did you disable your anti virus program's auto scan before installing?

I'm having problems with 2 machines so far. 1 machine worked, all 3 are very
similar (hardware/software) - Norton IS 2005 in use all 3. Tried disabling
it, same error. Tried trobleshooter - no results, tried KB search for KB
articles listed in the updates - returns 0 results.

Found a log file KB900725 that ends with:
Update.exe extended error code = 0xf201
I'll go to KB and see what I can learn.

Usually, installing the standalone versions of the patches will succeed when
the Automatic Updates/Windowsupdate.com equivalents fail. Search for them at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/s...displaylang=en
