Windows XP Professional Upgrade version

I just purchased the Windows XP Professional Upgrade version CD from CompUSA
and upgraded my Windows 2000 OS in my Desktop. Everything seem to go find
until the computer rebooted and the monitor shows a message "Out of Range"
and I am not able to see anything. It looks as if the Monitor is being turned
off or the
video card is not working. The monitor is fine because I tested it on my
Laptop and it worked fine. Can someone help??. Is there any compatibility
issues that the SP2
version check could have missed in my computer?.

It sounds like windows XP is set to run the display at a vertical
refresh rate faster than the monitor can accomidate. Can you boot into
safe mode and adjust the screen resolution or the refresh rates for
resolutions above 640 X 480?
