Windows XP restarts when I burn a DVD

I have Windows XP professional and a Sony RW DW-D22A DVD writer.
I have used RecordNow and DeepBurner to write photos to a DVD and in both
cases I find that the machine restarts itself. Upon restart it says it failed
due to a problem with a device driver.
I have applied all recent Windows XP patches. My device driver for the DVD
writer is Microsoft 5.1.2535.0 dated 01/07/2001.
The writer happily reads CDs, DVDs and writes CDs but fails to write DVDs.
I took a look on the Sony site and failed to find any drivers to download.
Any suggestions ?

To burn photos to DVD, you can get Photo2DVD a try. It has a nice photo
slideshows build in. Just run a search in google for 'photo to dvd',
should explain it nicely.
