windows xp service pack 2 install problems

everytime i try to intall service pack 2 i get the error that there is not
enough disk space. but i delete the required of amount of programs to get
the additional space and the install fails and tells me that i need even more
space. waz up???

How is the drive partitioned ? i.e. is there a C:\ and D:\ drive or is
there just a C:\ drive .

Are you trying to install from Windows Update, the downloaded SP2
package, or from a CD ?
The more details you provide, the quicker someone can give you assistance.
