I was about 1/2 way of installing the SP2 on my laptop running WinXP. Then
during the finishing installation which is "Updating Your System" with the
details "Performing Cleanup" I dont know what happened. It kept performing
cleanup for more than 2 HOURS! Can u imagine that. I am getting fed up with
this... I dont think that Microsoft put some installation code of easy setup
and user-friendly plus a minute installation wizard on the SP 2.

So please anyone with some brain and ideas about this help me...

Great answer, pa bear. Next time, instead of arrogantly posting links that
you know damned well won't be helpful, perhaps a more direct answer would be
mnore useful.

Wow, a critic who complains about the posting of links and then puts a link
in his own reply? And the link triggers a warning from my virus software, no
less.

I think this whole post is full of s**t and needs to be taken away.
