Windows XP Service Pack 3 update error

I have tried to download this update (XP service pack 3) serveral times with
failures. The most recent today, error code 0x80070005. I cannot find a
solution in FAQ's or "Find Solutions". Any advice?

Error message when you try to install WinXP SP3: "Access is denied" or
“Service Pack installation did not complete�

Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3) and *only until* 14 Apr-09.

"Windows XP" then select "Windows XP Service Pack 3"

NB: All of the above has been posted hundreds of times in this and WinXP
General newsgroup over the past year.
