Windows XP Service Pack Update

I reloaded Windows XP Professional Operating system hoping to correct
problems that have been popping up.

I have been attempting to open Office software applications and I keep
getting the following error message:

"Set-up has detected an incomplete Windows XP Service Pack installation on
your computer. Office will not run properly until this update has been
completed"

I have since downloaded the updated service pack but it does not seem to fix
the problem.

Any suggestions?

Hello,
Your XP Pro is the "original" release? or does it have Service Pack 1?
Which version of Office is this? and what service pack level?

And is this a problem "re-loading" (setup) of MS Office?
