windows xp service pack updates

i recently acquired a 2nd hand laptop and it needs service pack 3 installing
but it doesn't have service pack 1a, i know i can download these from
microsoft but it's not yet connected to the internet and service pack 1a
requires a connection to install, is there a download that doesn't need the
internet connection and where can i get it from?

Go straight to SP2 - Windows XP Service Pack 2 - download (for single PCs
also)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Then you can scan for updates that are required before SP3 is installed.
