Windows XP SP2 download does not start

Trying to get all XP updates downloaded and installed. Successfully got about
64 updates installed earlier today, rebooted and checked for additional
updates. It's trying to download XP Service Pack 2, "status" says
"downloading" (1 of 1) but nothing is happening. Have tried re-booting a
couple of times; same result. Help???

Well, I waited long enough and it finally started the update. The download
progress bar never did show any progress that I saw, but install wizard for
SP2 finally kicked off and it's in progress at this time.

Was the installed AV actively monitoring the system ? If so, SP2 will
*most* likely fail to install properly:
