We were having issues installing SP2 and then being told it was not
installed. After perusing the questions and answers here, we followed the
following instructions to another user.
SP2 installed and then the system was rebooted. After doing so, we were
able to get online via dialup but anytime we went to a webpage or web based
email, we were unable to access anything.
Checking under the Windows Security Center in XP w/ SP2 installed, we found
the firewall but it was not active. After activating firewall and ICS
system, everything is greyed out and cannot be turned on or off.
We tried to go into regedit to undo the changes below and now under the
Permissions for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT everything is blank.
We cannot click on the add or advanced buttons. Can a system restore reset
that back to how it was before we tried to undo this change?
