Windows XP SP2 - Please HELP!

I have tried to download Windows XP SP2 but it crashed before installation
was complete. My automatic update status page says that is has failed due to
error code 00 and that I am to try and download the update again. The
problem is is that I do not know how to do this or where to get the download
from or even whether this will sort out the problem? It says my system is
unstable but I have no uninstall option in my add/remove programs for this....

If someone could please point me in the right direction I would really
appreciate it.

William,
I went/am going through the same problem! I wasnt able to completly
uninstall SP2 so I had to restore my computer to a previous restore
date..pain..Hopefully you can find a better answer, as I am still messing
with this. Seems as if the New Norton Internet Security works with SP2 as do
alot of other software. So NOTHING is working on my computer. Goodluck. I
hope you have better fate the me!!!!

Hi RCFIRE
Thanks for your post - my problem is now fixed - YAY! I called the free
helplkine and they were really helpful. I had to put the computer into
safemode uninstall the program simply using the remove button and then
searching again for the automatic update and trying the download again.
Touch wood it seems to be working thus far, although the Antivirus section
won't pick up that I have just updated my Norton Antivirus software and is
thus showing it as "Unmonitored"?!
Anyway, if you are still having problems try calling the helpline, the guy I
spoke to was great.
