Windows XP SP2 problem?

After installing the SP2 I now have red x's instead of pictures and buttons.
I don't use Outlook as my mail service but it is happening on other things
such as Norton's (When I open Nortons instead of getting the little buttons I
get an indentation and a box with a red x) and Turbo Tax, etc. Using my Yahoo
messenger, I cannot see the Emoticons I send or people send to me. What can I
do to fix this as it is really getting on my nerves. Thanks for your
suggestions.

I am sorry that you are hitting this issue. This does not seem like a
Windows Update problem, since SP2 did install completely and still is
operating. Perhaps these other newsgroups would be more helpful:
