windows xp sp2 through update

I set my computer to update last night. powered it down and back up today. my
computer still keeps saying this version of windows xp is no longer up to
date. XPSP2 was supposed to be in there, but when I put in my easy start cd
for an mp3 player, I get the message, "requires windows xp with service pack
1 or later" Then when I go on the windows update site, it tells me I already
have SP2????

Open control panel System. What does it say under "System" for name and
version of operating system?

Otherwise, consult the support channel for the application that you are
trying to install.
