1) Tried installing from Microsoft website and almost immediately
received a failure message. Following the instructions determined
that the failure code was 0x8007F0F4. Looked that up on the web and
didn't find anything helpful.
2) Tried installing from a CD created from the ISO file available on
the Microsoft website. After the extraction I received a message that
KB925877 needed to be uninstalled. Not finding that in Add/Remove
Programs I did the following to uninstall KB925877.

Started regedit (Start / Run / put Regedit in the blank / OK)

Navigated to the following key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall
\KB925877]

Changed the NoModify and NoRepair values to 0 (from 1)
"NoModify"=dword:00000001
"NoRepair"=dword:00000001

Double-clicked on Uninstall and copied the value (CNTL-C) (or one
could write down the string)
It should be something like -- "C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB925877$
\spuninst\spuninst.exe"
Did a Start / Run / pasted the uninstall string (CNTL-V) / OK. (or one
could type in the string)
KB925877 uninstalled.

Reran from the CD and SP3 installed.

Site for ISO file:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

A ISO file is a file that should be excrated when booted wright?
So you have to enable boot from CD in your BIOS wright?
Cause when I Download the file, I get a message: Windows can't open the
following program. with the options: serch for the web for tis extention or
look at the list of progs.

Thanks in advance

The ISO file is an image of a CD. Use some program which burns a CD
using the ISO file. In this case the CD is not bootable. With
Windows running insert the CD and open it. The only file on the CD is
the Windows XP SP3 installer file. Double-click on it to start the
install.

I had saved it onto a flash drive but I was able to unpack it.
But now I get the message that my system language doesn't match the update.
So 'll have to try and find a dutch version.
