Windows XP SP3 Will not Instal

Hi Fellow Techies

I have been tryinmg now to Instal XP 3 on a Media Center XP 2005 Edition PC

The PC was full of Viruses and Malware however I have managed to get rid of
them and still the SP3 will not Instal. I have carried out all the help
available in the KB 949377 from top to Bottom and still no closer to the
Instal Completing

I have also tried the instal in Safemode and it does not work. All AV
products have been disabled.

Anyone able to assist me?

You might receive more assistance if you utilize the general XP group rather
than this one as your problem is with the operating system (Windows XP), and
not the Media Center interface, which is what this group discusses. I would
suspect that not all damage from the infections have been repaired however.

I finally managed to Install SP3 by updating .net 2 to service pack 1 and
installing the latest installer package.

now i need to get the latest updates.
