After successful install of Windows XP sp3 my system is super slow. Takes
2-3 minutes to open any window or execute any command. I get no errors or
blue screen like others in this discussion thread get with sp3. It is just
so slow as to be unusable. I ran defrag and rebooted several times.
Suggestions?

Run Disk Cleanup | Reboot | Run Defrag | Reboot.

Also see http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=33827

WinXP SP3 - Read all prerequisites for a successful installation
http://msmvps.com/blogs/harrywaldron...tallation.aspx

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for
Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and
e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...spx?gprid=1173 | select "Windows
XP" then select "Windows XP Service Pack 3"

If you uninstall SP3 does the problem still exist?

How to remove Windows XP Service Pack 3 from your computer
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950249

Before installation did you read:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950717/

Did you make sure your system was clean, defragged, checked the hard drive
(chkdsk) etc?

Otherwise start a free incident report as suggested by PA Bear.

Yes. My computer back to super fast after uninstall SP3. Boot process was too
slow
for almost 1 - 2 minutes after installed SP3. Surfing Internet also too slow.
