The error code indicates insufficient disk space for update and states that 4
MB more disk space is required. Microsoft support articles 949375 and 949385
suggest using Disk Cleanup to get more space. I did that as well as deleting
two applications resulting in an increase in disk space of about 1 GB. I
presently have 25 GB of free space. Repeated attempts to install the update
result in the same statement, still asking for 4 MB more space. All prior
updates to SP2 have been sucessful. What's the problem? Is there another way
to install this update? Apparently the update file has been downloaded and
stored on the disk. Where would such a file be stored?

Have you tried a defrag etc

The update, if downloaded from WU is in the temporary folder in
softwaredistribution/downloads
