Hello. Today, I formatted my pc. The format disk that I have includes the
Service Pack 1 for the Windows Xp. However, I need to install the service
pack 3. Many application requires it, and it contains some crucial security
updates. I downloaded the SP3 Update for IT proffesionals, because I wanted
to save it in a disk for future use. I ran the update, and it stucks when it
tries to create a recovery point. I have tried it several times and I had to
close it by force. Is there any solution?

In no certain order:

The hard disk space requirements for WinXP SP3

You receive error messages if there is insufficient free disk space on the
system drive to install the Windows XP SP3

disk capacity of 4 GB or less

WinXP SP3 - Read all prerequisites for a successful installation

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for
Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and
e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...spx?gprid=1173 | select "Windows
XP" then select "Windows XP Service Pack 3"

LOOK! => After you get SP3 installed, you *will* need the following KB
article before you'll be able to install any post-SP3 updates:

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you perform a new Windows XP
installation or you repair a Windows XP installation

hmm, a freshly formatted harddrive shouldn't be running into this
problem, unless you created an OS partition, then it's very possible
you made it too small. unfortunately, it always stores its temporary
files on C.
