Hi PA, I could not fine the "How to obtain help" section, but on reading the
link you sent me it told me I needed The Windows Installer V2 to install my
problem updates, so I found "Windows Installer KB893803. V2. x86exe" and
downloaded. I tried to install but it came up with another window which said,
"Set up has detected that the service pack version of the system is newer
than the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update"
Apologies if i am being a bit thick but where do I go now please.

Sorry about that.

1. Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY in
the United States and in Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft
subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with
security updates. When you call, clearly state that your problem is related
to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number (e.g., KB928367).

For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

======
or...
======

2. Before doing anything else, write down the .NET Framework versions which
are already installed:

How to determine which versions of the .NET Framework are installed and
whether service packs have been applied
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318785

3. Now see Resolution Method 2 in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100
(ignore the title). After running the appropriate/needed tool, (re)install
all .NET Framework versions manually using the download links on the page.

NB: KB923100 references this page:
http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archi...30/611355.aspx. Please read
ALL of it as well as the related page
http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/pages/8904493.aspx before using the .NET
Framework Cleanup Tool.

Hi PA,
I started a free windows update support incident request as you suggested
and the problem eventually was solved.
It would appear it was something corrupt in the .net framework, so the
technician sent me a link to remove all .net frameworks from my computer and
also the links to reinstall the same individually, I did this and all was
well.
All my updates are now up to date. ha!
Thank you for your time and suggestions.

yes 2&3 almost, I may have done something wrong following his instructions
with this method, so he gave me the link for the clean .net framework tool
and I proceeded from there, thanks again.

Hi PA,
Wondered if you could put me in the right direction for this one, I have had
it on the disscussion boards but to no avail.......
I have a problem with my OUTLOOK 2000, this is OUTLOOK not outlook express as
i could not find a category for OUTLOOK.
Problem:
For the past few years I have been sending to 6 of my volunteer friends
emails by GROUP MAIL (tuesdaygang) with no problems, about 2 months ago they
started to be returned saying:

The following message to <tuesdaygang> was undeliverable.

The reason for the problem:

5.1.1 - Bad destination email address 'invalid domain "": no dot found'

I have checked all addresses, missed one in turn off the list, re done list,
tried different friends ect: it just seems that the group email now does not
work?

I can still send to them all individually.

Thanking you in anticaipation
