Windows XP update error

Every time that I try to run the windows update with
http://update.microsoft.com/microsof...ult.aspx?ln=en page it
takes a lot and seems like it is processing for a long time. Then I always
get the message "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the
page you are trying to view.". [Error number: 0x8024402F]. It is not possible
to get any update. My system is Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 with
Automatic updates "on".
Please help, I would like to get the latest updates

This error code translates to ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT.
Check to see if you have ActiveX filtered on your router/firewall.
Also, disable a proxy if you're using one and see if that works.
