Hi,

When I try to update my Windows XP, I always got the
following message:

Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot
display the requested page.

Select from any of the following pages for information
about Windows Update services, or send us your feedback.
Windows Update Home Page
About Windows Update
Support Information
You can also get online support if you are having
problems with Windows Update.
Send error number to Microsoft (0x800A138F)
Note This sends error information but does not create a
support incident; you may or may not receive a response.

I have also follow the [trouble shoot] to do the
following:
Problem Description:
This may occur if Service Pack 1 has been removed from
the computer either through System Restore or by
reinstalling Windows XP into the same directory. You may
see a page that states that the Web page has an
unexpected error or cannot display the page that was
requested.
Resolutions:
The value for the CSDVersion in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Window
s
needs to be changed to 0. If you are comfortable editing
the registry, follow the instructions below.
1. Click "Start," and then click "Run."
2. In the Open box type regedit and click "OK."
3. Browse in the left frame to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Window
s
4. In the right frame you will see the key CSDVersion.
Double click this key.
5. Change the value to 0 and click "OK."
6. Restart the computer.

But the problem still there, any one can help?

Thanks.

Franky

Hello Franky,

There are a couple of KB articles that show the same issue that you're
describing. Go to the links below and read through these articles. If they
sound familiar you may want to try the steps listed. Are you using Windows
Update version 4 or version 5? You can tell if you look at the Address bar
in Internet Explorer. One starts with Http://v4 and the other with
Http://v5. If you're using Version 4 then you might want to go to
https://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and update to the latest version.

Check these links:

Hope this helps

Thank You
