windows XP upgrade

Just upgraded to Windows XP with sp2 and downloaded all additional updates
avail.
However, USB ports are still considered 1.1. When I upgraded different
computer with same model motherboard, etc. all ports were 2.0 after upgrade.
Am I missing something?

Either: (a) the hardware in this case is only USB 1.1;
or: (b) this system is in need of updated motherboard chipset drivers.
