Windows XP (we're sorry)

Windows Xp Home will not let me download the SP2. I have updated most all
other updates but now I'm getting a ( we're sorry) in the update logon. It
tells me that I need to go to run and type in services.msc and change the
Bits to auto which I did and it still won't work. How do I get the updates to
start working again?
