Windows XP Won't Update!

My windows xp won't update. It just keeps installing the same file (MSXML
4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978)) over and over as an update and won't get
any new ones.

When I go to the update page, it just continues looking and looking for
updates endlessly.

Is MSXML 4.0 SP2 ((KB927978) listed in Add/Remove Programs ?
Also, id KB925672 listed under Windows XP - Software Updates ?

Uninstall them if they are listed, rebooting the system after each
uninstall. Also, every attempt to install KB927978 will result in a
randomly named folder on the drive that has the most free space. If
there is only one drive or partition, then they will be on the C:\ drive.
Each of the folders contains an installation log, msxml4-KB927978-enul.log
You can safely delete ALL of the randomly named folders.

Download MSXML 4.0 SP2 ((KB927978 and save it from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...B-6F18FE6921D4

Close the browser. Install msxml4-KB927978-enu.exe and then reboot.

Did that resolve the issue ? If not, locate the newly created randomly
named folder and post the contents of the msxml4-KB927978-enul.log, please.
