Of course Window 7 looks like Vista it is build on the Vista kernel. Windows
98 and ME were very similar because they were build on the Windows 98
kernel. Windows 7, however, has more security features than Vista and also
is far more stable. It also has more compatibility with hardware than Vista
had when Vista was originally released.
Your choice of operating system will depend upon the manufacturer of your
PC - remember it is not only Microsoft that has to make money, the PC
manufacturers' have to too. If they don't think Windows 7 will sell their
machines then they will opt for an alternative. That alternative will not,
however, be XP. XP has passed its sell buy date now and I don't think
Microsoft will be allowing any 'downgrade' options; if anything the only
downgrade option will be Vista.
