WindowsUpdate caught in endless loop

I have experienced this issue on 5 computers. Some WindowsUpdates won't
download. I go to WindowsUpdate, select an update, and it appears to start
downloading.

The following appears in the download window:

Verifying the download.

Then

Downloading 2.90 MB of 2.90 MB

then

Verifying the download

then Downloading 3.00 MB of 3.00 MB

and keeps adding .1 MB to the total, and it's stuck in a loop. The amount
will keep growing. I just let one download sit overnight and it was over 50
MB.

ARGH. Anyone have a possible fix for this?

I have seen this issue happen on 2 machines, but each update was different.
One was 873339. I forget the other update, but it was one of the 4 that was
released in December.

-Mike

Same problem here. Also running McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0. Definitely
an interesting coincidence.

Open MacAfee VirusScan Console, then Access Protection, uncheck both
"Prevent IRC communication...", click Apply. That worked for me.
