Works for "ME". Before you all get carpal tunnel at START-RUN, try this.
Lower your IE security setting to low (just this once). Windows Update does
not always require "High security" settings but it does require:
1. Automatic Updates service to run
2. Correct proxy settings if you use a proxy
3. Active Scripting
4. ActiveX controls
Also, don't trust everything your provider tells you about setup. I had to
switch from WINS Configuration (My Networks/Properties) to "Use DHCP for WINS
Resolution.
