Hello all.
I am posting this to you because I don't know what else to do.
I have read all the past relevant usenet messages over google-groups
and searched the web for relevant information, plus I went to
windowsupdate troubleshoot page looking for a clue, all to no avail.
Whenever I go to windowsupdate to download some critical patch or
something, my system will dutifully download all the critical patches
but none of them can be installed.
I am NOT using WinXP. It's an old machine that's why I need to update
it.
From the messages I've read, about "inf" files under my windows
folder, there are 546 inf files there, and I have NO idea what they
are.
My system configuration is very simple - basic setup, with IE and the
OPERA Browser installed. Nothing else.
I have NO idea what's blocking the downloaded update files from
installing. There's also NO "error message number" at all, and I can't
find the so-called "update log file" thing to look for clues !
HELP ! I am really confused !! PLEASE HELP !
