WindowsWindowsUpdate_0000066A WindowsUpdate_dt000

Originaly I had 00000643 Windows Update dt000. I followed the instructions
and downloaded the windows clenup programa and removed the Net 1.1. I then
tried to install the update and recieved a new failier message:
WindowsUpdate_0000066A WindowsUpdate_dt000.

Appearently this one is different and has not been reported. Any suggestions?

dumb question I'm sure, but did you remember to reinstall .net 1.1? You will
also have to reboot between the uninstall, the reinstall, and the update.
The number of reboots MAY not be necessary, but when I had the same problem I
rebooted between every step and it finally loaded fine (with update vice
manual...surprise surprise).

BTW, this had been reported before, and with the net framework
updates...seems to go hand in hand with 0643.

I also got the error message "WindowsUpdate_0000066A"
"WindowsUpdate_dt000" when trying to download the update Microsoft .NET
Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1. I have Vista X64 Home. All other updates
including the new Service Pack have installed fine. It's just this
"important" one that is not. Any suggestions that I have read so far
involve removing security updates starting with KB88... and I don't have
any. All my updates start with KB9.... I've only had this computer
since January and I just now went through all my updates and found that
this update has failed every time since January! I guess the update
icon came back after I installed the new Service Pack. Any suggestions.

We are getting the same error message for security update for Microsoft.NET
Framework Version 1.1 Service Pack 1. (KB929729). Anybody have any luck with
figuring this out? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

I also have error dt000 with Windows Update.
I try to install Security Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2
(KB948109); and get error 00006D9E as well.

Btw my laptop is Toshiba A100 on Vista HP

Microsoft: please help!
Any suggestions?
