Windwos Update installed corrupted files on home and work computer

Help since Recent updated leave my work computer unable to reboot.
My home computer can no longer get updates from WU and the help center does
not work. Asks for keywords and nothing works.
I cannot afford to rebuild both work and home computers every time.
What is going on with the files in WU?
