windws updates gone wrong somehow

Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)

i keep getting this message when i try to update windows.i am using a
genuine windows copy,i know this because up until july last year all the
updates installed successfully and i bought the computer from a big named
store.Prior to the above error (happening for last week or so) whenever
after july 2005 i downloaded updates they failed toinstall.Please can someone
help me to remedy this ,its getting me really annoyed Thanks for any advice

hey i have this same problem too and it has also just recently been bugging
me for about a week. i wrote to the support center but i still havent
received anything. i will keep you informed if i ever get any information
but if you figure it out can you notify me.

I guess that makes 3 of us. I have the same problem with that update. I can't
get past it. Need HELP !

The WGA diagnostic tool has been updated to correct this problem seen by some
customers. Please download and execute it from:

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

After running the tool, please return to Windows Update and try it again.

Well the three of us should be able to get through it lol.Its annoying
because nothing seems to have changed on my system.I have sent an email to
microsoft outlining the problem,will report back when they reply

Did run WGA diagnostic tool as you reccomended. So some tabs with the green
word Genuine. Tried to go to the Windows update site but got a error message
that SOME PROBLEM OCCURED AND THAT THE PAGE GOT NOT BE OPENED error
0x80070008 9could'nt find a explenation of this erro). So besides the above
problem I now have a extra problem that the update site isn't loading
anymore.

Somehow the problem is solved and the Update Site is working correctly and
the download problem is gone. Thank you for your solution.

"imin the process of email tennis with microsoft did the diagnostic still no
change.I have just sent microsoft the update log files will post back when i
find something positive

Ok i just got an email from microsoft with a reg file in it .I applied the
reg edit ,went to windows update and successfully installed all new updates
..Heres the email i recieved follow it and i hope you find it successful
please let me know if it does.

Backup registry before applying

PLEASE NOTE

You will have to make the above into a registry reg.I dont know how to ,this
came as a reg txt so it will not copy and paste here.also if your doing it
manually i didnt have a SensLogn in the notify folder but i suppose you could
create 1


1) Save the attached files on the desktop.

2) Double click to open the file.

3) Click file ---- save as.

4) Files name registry.reg

5) Save as type should be all files.

6) Click save.

7) Double click on registry.reg

8) Click Yes

9) Click Ok



After performing these steps go to the windows site and update windows.

I really do hope this helps others as it helped me good luck
