winload.exe file went missing

Working on Toshiba Satellite A135-S4727 laptop running Windows Vista, after
neighbor's 14-year-old grandson used it over Winter break.

Won't start up, we get this error message from the Toshiba Recovery Wizard:

"Error: 10FC12-0002

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

Since the problem is with Toshiba's recovery process (presumably you decided
to restore the machine to factory condition), contact Toshiba tech support.
They will know what their error means.
