winmail.exe eating up CPU cycles

I'm having strange problem with Windows Vista. For some odd reason
winmail.exe boots with Windows and my CPU usage skyrockets to 100%. So after
Windows boots I kill the winmail.exe process and my CPU usage returns to
normal. Now, this problem has not been happening since I got Vista, nor do I
know if winmail.exe has been booting with Windows all along. The only
programs that I've recently installed, and may be correlated with the problem
are the Safari and Opera browsers. Is there a way to prevent winmail.exe
from booting with Windows or is there a way to uninstall it? I'd rather not
uninstall both Safari and Opera to see if that does anything, since, as I
said, they *may* be correlated with the problem. Any suggestions are
welcome, and thanks in advance.

Go into Run> msconfig > check your start up programs there.

Untick your Mail one. Restart.

When it restarts, and annoys you about altering into selective startup ,
just tick the option not be to reminded.

How long have you been experiencing this problem? Was the CPU usage this
high prior to installing Opera and Safari? Please note that Safari 3 for
Windows is still in beta, but I can't see how it could be really affecting
Windows Mail, but nothings impossible. Have you ran an Antivirus scan, empty
your junk folder?

msconfig should only be used for diagnosing. Once you determine what you
don't want starting remove the program from the calling location, listed
under "Location" in msconfig.
