Win Vista Ultimate - All MS updates
Documents and Settings Dialog box: Documents and Settings tab/Security issue
when adding "MyUserID" for Full Control

I'm attempting to find the Favorites folder under WinVista Ultimate. Under
WinXP it was a folder under Documents and Settings... So, I navigated to the
WinVista Documents and Settings and attempted to add "MyUserID" with Full
Control on the directory and set of subdirectories.
In doing so, I'm "Caught" in a loop: Due to some messages from WinVista,
I've deleted the Full Control AND "MyUserD". When I select "OK", I now
receive the dialog box message "An error has occurred while applying security
information to C:\Documents and Settings. Access is denied." When I select
"Cancel" nothing happens. Hence, I can't get out of the Documents and
Settings Properties dialog box. Suggestions? (Besides rebooting etc.).
BTW, WHERE is the Favorites directory so that I can schedule backups on it?
TIA!!!

Use Ctrl-Alt-Del to start Task Manager and kill any pending tasks. If you
can't do this, then you'll be forced to power off the computer manually. Then
go into Safe Mode and do a System Restore before you started messing with
this.

There is no Documents and Settings directory in Vista. What you see when you
enable viewing hidden files is just a junction point; a virtual directory
there for backwards compatibility with older programs that expect to find it.

The Favorites directory is in:

C:\Users\your-username\Favorites.
