If your last part ("i can't install updates with out sp3 and wait until it
WORKS.") means you don't want to install SP3 right now - don't. Your
choice. People are still running machines without SP1a successfully.
People are still using just SP2 machines successfully. Some even have whole
different OSes all together.
However - if you do not install SP3 - sooner or later there will be updates
freely provided (and software provided by both the original manufacturer and
third party manufacturers) that you will not be able to install because you
do not have the necessary components and/or your operating system (as is)
has become obsolete and unsupported. (Even if you install SP3 - sooner or
later all of that will come to pass.)
Windows XP SP3 works fine. Very few issues with it cannot be pointed back
to a specific machine flaw (software or hardware) or - if more widespread -
a specific software/hardware flaw caused by some decision (like an
Intel-based image being put on an AMD machine.) If you perform the
maintenance on your PC that should be done (your computer is not a toaster,
and even a toaster - without proper cleaning - will fail) - then other than
a few broader (not made by you) mistakes - your SP3 install should go
smoothly. Even if you happen to be a victim of one of the broader
mistakes - a little reading and effort can get you past that before it ever
becomes a problem.
As far as your "a lot of tech" comment... *shrug* It's a computer. Either
you learn to use it or you accept that you may have to have someone else
(for pay/trade or friendship) do some things for you. You may not fully
understand your vehicle's hardware - but I bet you still ride-in/drive one.
You may not understand the intracacies of how your television works, your
refrigerator, even the lights and switches in your house (the basics, sure -
the intracies you'd need to know to fix it if something went wrong
though...) - but I bet you have some of those items. That's 'a lot of tech
for somebody who doesn't know much about it'... *grin*
