WinXP SP2 and Previous Hotfix Uninstall files

I recently installed WinXP-Pro SP2. The process went fine and previous
Hotfixes/patches seem to have been replaced by new (SP2) code (eg the long
list of previous Hotfixes is no longer included in the 'Add/Remove' list
--except for the 3 Hotfixes installed by the SP2 CD). This is also confirmed
by a Belarc scan.

Can (or should) I remove the previous Hotfix 'Uninstall' files (60+ folders)?
When removing these, can they simply be deleted?

Similarly, when is it recommended to remove the SP2 'Uninstall' files?
(I would suspect that the viability of the SP2 Uninstall becomes
questionable after
several 'new' Hotfixes are installed.)

All the uninstall files can be safely deleted:

Wait long enough so you are sure all is OK before deleting an uninstall
file.
Usually about 2 weeks after installation should be enough for you to know
with reasonable certainty.
As time goes on the cause is less likely the patch and more likely something
else.
