WinXP SP2 WindowsUpdate error (e.g. 0x80072EE2) and maybe other SP2 network problems.

I'm behind a corporate firewall. This helped me:

proxycfg -p <your proxy server>:<port> "<local>"

e.g.
proxycfg -p proxy.acme.com:81 "<local>"

This sets the default WinHTTP proxy configuration.
