Hi,
Depends. Is D:\ your recovery volume placed on the system by the
manufacturer? If so, you certainly don't want to wipe it out. If it is
marked as a system or boot volume (as seen by disk manager), then you don't
want to format it or you will lose the ability to boot the system.
If it's just a data volume, simply format it. If it's a system or boot
volume, just delete the unwanted files.
