Wireless connection negotiation

My Vista boot-up is delayed by about 60 seconds due to slow startup of the
Wiresless network connection (which otherwise works well).

After the desktop/sidebar appears there is a 60 second delay with NO disk
activity. During this time, it appears the service WORKSTATION is trying to
load ("Starting.."). After this pause the rest of the startup applications
finally load.

During the startup pause, the "Network" icon in System Tray (2 computers)
has a red X, then a yellow exclamation-point, and finally after about 60-90
secs the planet symbol appears and the internet connection and Workgroup
access works. The D-Link router log shows the system is authenticated WPA
within a couple seconds.

The connection delay is fixed if I disable the "Workstation" service or if I
use the laptop's wired ethernet NIC.

Vista boot log loads all drivers EXEPT:
> Did not load driver \systemroot\system32\drivers\srv.sys
> Did not load driver \systemroot\system32\drivers\parport.sys

Question:
1. Does anyone know why this wireless connection delay on startup is
occuring, or where to start looking for the problem?
2. Is there some way for Vista to generate a NETWORK LOG of what is
happening during this delay?

System Setup:
-Vaio SZ6 Santa Rosa laptop with Intel 4965AGN (80211b/g/n)
-Vista Business 32 bit, local workgroup over LAN
-D-Link (DI-624) router, dynamic DHCP, connected to cablemodem.
-No difference in delay using static IP assignment
-WPA/PSK security
-NIC not allowed to connect to "alternative SSID"
-Up to date Vista, Intel NIC drivers, router firmware.

Is it normal for SRV.SYS to fail loading on startup?

Anyone know why this is happening?
